Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) announced on Sunday that employers can now file a report about absconding domestic workers to the directorate through the Abshir electronic portal of the Ministry of Interior.

There are certain conditions for the online filing of report about the runaway domestic help.

According to the Jawazat statement, employers can revoke the report about absconding workers within 15 days after filing it online.

However, revocation will not be possible online. The employer must personally visit the Department for Expatriates at the Jawazat.

After the expiry of 15 days, cancelation of the report will not be possible and subsequently the file of the concerned domestic worker will be sent to the concerned departments to complete the procedures for deportation.

Such workers will be declared illegal and banned from reentering the Kingdom, the statement said.
