Kerala community marks grand success of Janadriya festival

RIYADH — Kerala community here celebrated the grand success of Janadriya festival and felicitated the volunteers, yoga artists, journalists and sponsors for their efforts and support.

Kerala State Stalls in this National Cultural and Heritage Festival of Saudi Arabia, in which India was accorded the status of “Guest of Honor” country, showcased the Kerala’s cultural dimensions, art forms, traditions, festivals, cuisine, tourism potentials, biodiversity, science and technology and developing businesses in the state.

Chief Guest Anil Nautiyal, counselor Community Welfare at the Indian Embassy, appreciated the diligent work done by the Keralities and said that they are the front runners in community and welfare activities in every country outside India.

He disclosed that Kerala was allotted the first three days, including the inaugural, after through consideration and brain storming due to their dedication and Kerala deserved it.

Shihab Kottukad, general convener, Kerala Stall in Janadriya thanked Indian Embassy and all the officials for the excellent arrangements at Janadriya. He thanked government of Saudi Arabia for inviting India as guest of honor. He said many Saudi officials appreciated the tradition of Kerala after visiting the stall.

During the Janadriya festival, a special website was developed offering the wide range of information about the state. A special team led by Mymoona Abbas managed it and the organizers appreciated the whole team for their dedicated services.

Saleem Mahi, convener, Kerala Stall in Janadriya and other members of organizing committee spoke on this occasion and presented the appreciation certificates to yoga artist, students, teachers, media persons (print and electronic) and organizing committee for their services.

Chief Guest Nautiyal and Kottukad specially thanked Saudi Gazette and Mir Mohsin Ali for the wide and excellent coverage of Janadriya.

Rahmatullah, principal, Al-Yasmin School, and Indian Embassy officials and large Indian community and their families were present.
