MAKKAH — While Makkah residents demanded that the market of cattle located in the Al-Ka'kiya neighborhood to be relocated, the Municipality of Makkah has lent its support in keeping the market in its current location.

Residents complained of bad odors, insects, and epidemics for more than 35 years, stressing the need to transfer the market to its new location in the suburb of the Crown Prince area away from residential spaces.

Commenting on the news report published by Okaz entitled "Cattle market pollutes Al-Ka'kiya for 36 years", the Municipality stated that it is performing its tasks and work at the cattle market site in the district supervising the ongoing cleaning work, and removing all waste in cooperation with the General Department of Hygiene.

The Municipality explained that the Municipality of Al-Shawqiya is organizing, monitoring the activities in the cattle market and supervising the vendors and applying the sanctions and penalties to all violators.
