JEDDAH — Young Star Pakistan, Careem KSA, Islamabad Warriors and Indomie KSA qualified for the for the playoffs in the third week of the Centre Systems BBCL Season II-Middle East Asia Cup-2018 championship here recently.
This 10-over tournament is powered by Indomie, Careem, BTech and supported by AAA Builders, Zamzam Tonight Restaurant, Gourmet Sweets, Air India, SAB, Pepsi, PPL, Paradise Restaurant and IJFF Media Partner.
Islamabad Warriors defeated RC India by 7 wickets in their last league match. Batting first, RC India scored 98-2 in 10 overs with Imran top scoring (44) and Ayazuddin remaining unbeaten on 35. Rahmath took 2 for 18.
Islamabad Warriors chased the target, losing 3 wickets in 5.4 overs. Explosive batting by Fahad fetched 60 off just 15 balls with 9 sixes and a boundary. Afreed claimed 2 for 21.
Man of the Match: Fahad 60 runs off 15 balls.
In the second match, Centre Systems thrashed Indomie Dragons by 8 wickets. Batting first, Indomie was restricted to 94-7 as Mazher Yaseen took 3 wickets for 27 runs in 3 overs. Shahzad grabbed 2 for 15. Zarkhan scored 25 for Indomie.
In reply, Centre Systems Dubai reached the target in 6.2 overs, losing two wickets. Splendid batting performance by Saddam (46 n.o.) and Shahzad (28 n.o.) produced 75 runs for the third wicket.
Man of the Match: Mazher Yaseen.
Young Star Pakistan continued its winning streak as it defeated Al-Max Sri Lanka by 5 runs in an exciting match. Batting first, Young Star posted 136-2 with brilliant knock of 60 n.o. by Aamir Siddique. He was well supported by Humayun who was unbeaten on 39. Shafran and Rukhshan took one wicket each.
Al-Max Sri Lanka came so near to 131-4 but fell short by 5 runs. Rukhshan blasted 40 off 19 balls and Asela 21 off 8 balls. Irfan, Furqan and Asif took a wicket each.
Man of the Match: Amir Siddique.
In the last match, Indomie Dragons defeated IDB by 67 runs. Batting first, Indomie scored 148-4 with Babar smashing 51 n.o. off 18 balls with 7 sixes. Mazher Abbasi made 26 and Sami ur Rehman 24. Taher and Abed took a wicket each.
In reply, IDB was restricted to 81-9. Imran scored 20 runs. Zarkhan, Sami and Faiyaz took 2 wickets each.
