TAIF
— When the clouds cover the skies, residents of Al-Halat village (30 km east of Taif), fear rain and the flow of floods in the valley, which disturbs their village and isolates them from their surroundings. When floods start, people can no longer reach or leave their homes, and despite repeated demands to the Taif Municipality to create flood tunnels, they never received any response.

Safi Al-Zaidi stressed that the Taif Municipality has promised them more than once to end their suffering with the flooding situation imposed by rainfall and the flow of water in the valley by building a ferry, adding, "But time goes by without these promises being fulfilled. We continue to suffer every time it rained."

Hamad Al-Zaidi shared Safi's opinion, indicating that the Municipality of Taif provided the village of Al-Halaht with asphalt, and the construction company gave them a choice between the construction of a ferry or a concrete barrier work so that the vehicles can pass through.

"Unfortunately, the company left and we did not see any change in the valley and did not create any project," he said. "Our suffering continued, especially with the rains, when we are being isolated."

Ghazi Al-Zaidi explained that the valley separates them from the center of Taif and the Al-Hawiya District, and when the floods flow their businesses and daily life are disrupted and everything is put on hold. Teachers, students, and employees find the situation impossible to navigate and so they remain at home. Ghazi stressed the need to act quickly and construct a ferry in the valley that will end their suffering from rainfall and floods.
