International Memon Organization hosts Suhour reception

JEDDAH — International Memon Organization (IMO) Middle East Chapter hosted “Meet & Greet Suhour” reception at Tawa & Tandoor Restaurant here.

Iqbal Memon Officer, Deputy President IMO who is here for Umrah, was chief guest. Iqbal Advani, VP Middle East, Tayyab Moosani, deputy secretary general, Irfan Kolsawala, president of Memon Association Saudi Arabia (MASA), distinguish members from Memon community and others attended.

The event commenced with recitation of few verses from Holy Qur’an by Aqeel Teli. Naat was recited by Ahmed Irfan Kolsawala while a poem on Ramadan was sung by Jawed Kherani. Siraj Adamjee, Saudi committee member of IMO, invited Siraj Lala and Imran Maskatiya to give a presentation on IMO Saudi Arabia Chapter.

Moosani the gave an introduction of concept of IMO. He explained in details about inception of IMO and its activities. Moosani said, “IMO was established almost one year ago and during short time, it has Memon members around 350,000 from all over the globe.”

He added, IMO has its office bearers and chapter head throughout world like president is Abdul Rahim Janoo, from Pakistan, deputy president is Officer, from India, secretary general is Abubaker Hamdani, from South Africa, and deputy secretary is Moosani, from Saudi Arabia, and VPs from all continents.

Moosani said, IMO is not a charitable organization it is neither collecting charity nor undertaking any charitable tasks. Its main objective is to uplift Memon community through voluntary and honorary services to the community. Its core objective is to remove poverty from the community through its Employment Bureau. It has already started working in Pakistan by helping people to establish themselves either in private job or business. He said most of the businessman and entrepreneurs are being contacted to send their demand of manpower to our employment bureau. Moosani said that services includes self financing or on no loss no profit basis; matrimonial, career guidance, symposium and seminars on various topics, and expo to contact businessman with businessman.

Also History Book and Census of Memon community is under process. Last but not least, IMO will work to benefit its hundreds of thousand members. It will create business directories of various suppliers and business industries throughout globe, who will offer certain discount to IMO members.

Chief Guest Iqbal Officer expressed thanks to Advani and Saudi Arabia committee for extending this courtesy and hospitality. He said that almost all aims and objectives have been presented by IMO Deputy Secretary and it’s true that not a single rupee is charged for membership and it will operate without charity and donations. IMO will do its best to produce self-sufficient people and create businessman so that they could help others. Officer stated, “Our welfare services are not limited to Memons, but non Memons are also benefiting from our services.”

As a token of appreciation, gifts of shawl were presented by committee members to the guests of honor. Committee member Abdul Kader Africawala presented shawl to Iqbal Advani, Sadiq Suratiya presented to Tayyab Moosani, Ahmed Kamal presented to Irfan Kolsawala, Abdul Qadeer Teli presented to Iqbal Memon Officer.
