June 14, 2018

DUBAI — L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), was placed second in Oil and Gas Magazine Middle East’s Top 30 EPC Contractors list for 2018.

With a total revenue of over $17 billion last year, L&T is one of India’s global conglomerates engaged in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services and operating in over 30 countries worldwide.

In addition to India, LTHE, the firm’s oil and gas arm, is involved in many prestigious international projects in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Tanzania, Oman and Malaysia.

One of the key projects that led to LTHE’s ranking was the major field development EPC contract with Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra Petroleum Operation Company, worth in excess of $342million, signed earlier this year. The scope of the contract includes the commissioning of flow lines and gathering facilities and pipelines to transfer crude oil and gas from the Haliba oilfield to a processing facility at Asab.

In KSA, LTHE was recently awarded the work for three gas production deck modules by Saudi Aramco as part of a consortium with Subsea 7. The consortium has four ongoing projects in the KSA.

In Kuwait, LTHE signed a deal worth $262 million with Kuwait Oil Company last year to build a crude oil transit pipeline from North Kuwait to Ahmadi, with a Q3 2020 completion date.

LTHE’s facility in Sohar, which is the first of its kind in Oman, comprises of a Modular Fabrication Yard LLC (a joint venture of L&T and the Zubair Corporation, Oman) and a manufacturing complex for Heavy Engineering. The facility possesses the capability to fabricate and load out a range of complex structures for Oil & Gas industry like large offshore Process Platforms, Jack up drill Rigs, SPAR/TLP & Modular Process Plants.

Larsen & Toubro is an Indian multinational engaged in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services with over USD 17 billion in revenue. It operates in over 30 countries worldwide. A strong, customer-focused approach and the constant quest for top-class quality have enabled L&T to attain and sustain leadership in its major lines of business for over seven decades. — SG
