BAHRA Advanced Cable Manufacturer Co. Ltd. signed a new contract for SR1.3 billion for the supply of low and medium voltage cables for its projects in the coming 12 months.
The new contract comes within various agreements signed by Saudi Electricity Company with national factories worth SR6.3 billion for the supply and delivery of medium voltage cables 13.8 to 36 kV and low voltage cables 400 v within 12 calendar months, to enhance its cable networks Kingdom-wide.
Bahra Cable secured two contracts from Saudi Electricity Company for SR580 million earlier this year.
Engineer Talal Idriss, CEO of Bahra Cables, expressed the company's pride in the trust of Saudi Electricity Company in its products, and assure that such trust will spur Bahra Cables to work harder in order to develop its performance to meet the terms and specifications of cables in Saudi Arabia.
Since its inception, he said Bahra Cables uses latest international technologies to produce high quality cables needed by the major projects in Saudi Arabia, as well as exports its products to many foreign markets.
Idriss pointed out that the company's products meet all international standards, and that the company got a number of accreditation certificates such as KEMA, IPH, SASO, LPCB, CSA, BASEC, and others for its production of power cables. The company as well got ISO 9001: 2008 for its collection of medium and high voltage cables up to 132 kV.
Moreover, Bahra Cables is the first cable manufacturer in Saudi Arabia to ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
He added that the cable industry in Saudi Arabia is currently undergoing major expansion to meet the growing demand for the implementation of major projects, as well as to meet the needs of the construction sector in general. He noted that national companies are capable of meeting about 90 percent of the Kingdom's requirements, which are produced at the highest level and in accordance with local and international standards. — SG
