JEDDAH — Indian Consul General Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh and Deputy Consul General and Director of India Forum Mohd Shahid Alam congratulated the new managing team on their appointment as well as laid the foundation for their new vision that’s in sync with the promising changes in the Kingdom. They hoped that each member would work in collaboration for a brighter tomorrow.

India Forum, a community group, is under the aegis of Consulate General of India, Jeddah, is the oldest and a prestigious organization that has members, who are respected Indian expatriates working in varied fields.

President Mir Ferozuddin and his managing committee have expressed their commitment for the future to bring about more meaningful experiences that will facilitate and encourage its members in turn towards bringing about a positive impact in the community at large and work out the challenges while moving ahead.

Earlier in May, the members of India Forum were treated to an distinctive adventure and interaction with the Indian Naval officers who marked an indelible impression on their minds through a premier tour on board, an Indian Naval Ship (INS Tarangini) that visited Jeddah.

Thereafter, with the advent of Ramadan, the holiest month, India Forum inaugurated a photography contest for the children to encapsulate the “Goodness of Ramadan” that had an irrepressible participation along with being cherished for its valuable subject.

Likewise, June 21 marked an important milestone that had history re-created with the Indian Consulate in Jeddah, organizing the “International Yoga Day” in which hundreds of expats, Saudi citizens, the international community, along with India Forum members assembled to mark this day.

Furthermore, Consul General Sheikh, leading the event himself, elicited the vigilance and commendation of the regional and global media to an extraordinary magnitude to the extent the event had a special mention by the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in his Radio Talkshow “Mann Ki Baat”.

India Forum’s new committee, comprising of personalities hand-picked from the community, are all geared up to walk the talk as well as establish key moments that will enlighten each member’s pride upon its association with India Forum.
