CEDA discusses achievements, home-made industries

JEDDAH – The Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) discussed various issues, including traffic safety presented by a related ministerial committee, at a meeting at Al-Salam Palace here on Tuesday, Saudi Press Agency said.

The Council also reviewed the second quarter report presented by the Projects' Management Office, at the council secretariat, on performance and achievement, the main hurdles and challenges, in addition to the most important existing projects.

The Council also reviewed an executive plan to develop home-made industries and logistics' services.

The Council concluded the meeting by taking appropriate recommendations on the discussed issues.

In another development, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, received here Tuesday a telephone call from the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, SPA said.

During the conversation, the Crown Prince offered condolences to the Japanese premier and the people of his country, on the victims of the torrential rains, floods and flash floods that overwhelmingly hit various parts of Japan.

They also discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in various fields and opportunities to develop strategic partnership between the two countries, in addition to reviewing initiatives related to the Saudi-Japanese Vision. —SPA
