JAZAN
— A Saudi man rescued a family trapped inside a burning car on Mount Habs east of Jazan on Saturday.

Mousa Al-Malki was driving down the highway to Al-Dayer Bani Malik when he saw a vehicle on fire with an entire family inside.

In addition to the driver, the car had two children and two women and none of them could get out and were calling for help.

Al-Malki took the fire extinguisher in his car and tried to extinguish the fire without success. He then broke the windows of the burning car and pulled the passengers out to safety.

He tried to call the Civil Defense but mobile reception in the area was quite weak.

He then took the passengers to a Civil Defense Center where they waited until family members in Dhamad came and picked them up.

None of the passengers were injured in the incident.

Al-Malki said he worked as a safety and security supervisor in the Education Directorate and the skills he acquired on the job helped him save the family.
