Thailand Consulate hosts ceremony to mark king’s 66th birthday anniversary

JEDDAH — Thai Consulate General in Jeddah hosted a ceremony on Saturday to honor Thailand King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on the occasion of his 66th birthday anniversary.

More than 150 Thais residing in Jeddah, Makkah, and nearby cities gathered at Thai Consul General’s residence to express their loyalty and best wishes to the Thai king.

Acting Consul General, Abdulrahim Datumada led Thai officials and Thai community to offer the ceremony and to sign well-wishing messages for the king.

Also, in the morning, an activity called “Jit-arsa” or the spirit of volunteering “We Do Good with Our Hearts” a campaign initiated by the Thai king, which allows members of the public to become volunteers to do good deeds in the King’s name, has organized at the Consulate General.

More than 100 Thai volunteers in yellow-clad gathered together to perform social services “Big Cleaning Day” by cleaning the consulate’s premises. — SG
