JEDDAH — Aseer Cricket League (ACL) beat Najran Cricket Association (NCA) by 115 runs to win the first match of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) Inter-City Championship, organized by South Province Cricket Association (SPCA) at ACL Um e Saboor Ground Friday.
Najran Cricket Association won the toss and chose to field first. Aseer Cricket League then scored 223-8 in the allotted 20 overs. All-rounder Farasat Afridi blasted 66 off 22 balls which included 7 huge sixes and 4 fours. Abrar Mushtaq hit 44 off 21 balls, Mohammed Adnan 38 off 21 balls, Zakaullah Mohammed Nawaz 30 off 21 balls and Tahir Rasheed 16 off 11 balls. Waqas Fida took 3 wickets in 4 overs conceding 30 runs.
In reply, NCA could manage 108-9 in 14.4 overs. Muhammad Adil scored 22 off 14 balls and Abdul Wahab 19 rns off 10 balls. Zaigham Abbas took 3 wickets in 2 overs conceding just 7 runs which included 1 maiden over.
Farasat Afridi was declared as the Man of the Match for his splendid performance of 66 runs off 22 balls.
Chief guest Nadeem Nadwi, CEO of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC), presented the Man-of-the-Match award to Farasat Afridi.
