It seems BlackBerry’s golden days have returned after unveiling its latest device, a twisted design BlackBerry Key2, in the market.

The device hit the Middle East market in July in silver and black colors while the initial launching was in June in New York.

Some of the features that differentiated BlackBerry Key2 from the previous versions are the classy slim look, dual cameras, operating system, and privacy options. Although the new smartphone look similar to the Blackberry KeyOne, the novel version is slimmer with 8.5mm. The two devices have 4.5 inches with a resolution of 434 pixels per inch touchscreens; however, Key2 has a bigger screen and the keys are 20 percent bigger. It has 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass too.

The device is running with the latest Android™ 8.1 Oreo operating system. Consumers in the Middle East will find that all the devices are equipped with Dual SIM.

Keyboard hacks

Key2 has a premium Android phone with BlackBerry's signature QWERTY keyboard. Shortcuts are available at this smartphone for applications. For example, after fixing the settings you can open Facebook app when pressing ‘F’.

Camera

For the first time consumers will utilize a BlackBerry with a duel rear cameras. The front camera is 8MP while the other one is 12Mp. Users can shoot videos up to Up to 4K at 30 frames per second.

Security

The BlackBerry key2 has a special security system. The company put into considerations that some of the smartphone consumers give their phone to others, so the company added Locker, which is a secure folder that store apps and other files and it requires fingerprint or password authentication to access it. Locker can integrated to the camera so the pictures could be saved in this folder rather than the public gallery. With Locket the device owners can use Firefox Focus to view web privately and the browsing history will not appear to others.

Another privacy feature in this BlackBerry is the privacy shade. By this option the user can darken the display except for one small area. The user can utilize the device without worrying of anyone can see what the person is doing or writing.
