MAKKAH
— The National Center for Security Operations (911) has received more than 280,000 calls in the three days between Monday and Wednesday, its director Maj. Gen. Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Al-Saleh told Saudi Gazette.

"Most of the calls were of human and service nature," he explained. He revealed that center has initiated a new service, which were the SMS messages within its efforts to upgrade its performance.

Al-Saleh said the center would not take more than 45 seconds from receiving the information until it is passed over to the concerned departments.

He said after directing the field teams, the center starts communicating with the informant to make sure that he/she has been given proper service.

"The response to the calls is automatically done within two seconds and that the calls to which there was no response were nil," he said. The director said the center has doubled the number of its men and women staff this year providing them with quality training.
