MANILA — Former beauty queen Melanie Marquez, who now lives in a ranch in Utah with her husband Adam Lawyer,  is happy being a cowgirl.



“I’m a farmer’s wife,” ABS-CBN News quoted Marquez as saying in an interview with radio dzMM’s “Mismo” on Friday night.



“Naturally, I help Adam. Although we have managers and cowboys there, I also have to check the cattle because it’s our biggest business,” said Melanie, who is currently on vacation in the Philippines. She said that horseback riding has become one of her favorite pastimes.



“I ride horses as well as (help) repair the house,” she said, adding that although she misses show business, her family has to come first.



“I miss it (showbiz) but then my priority is my family. My hunband needed me there, we don’t have any maid,” she said. — SG
