Nominations open for King Faisal Prize

— The nomination process for the 42nd King Faisal International Prize (KFIP) 2020 has opened, KFIP announced on Tuesday.

Secretary General of the King Faisal International Prize Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Subayel said nominations are being invited in five branches of the prize: Service to Islam, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language and Literature, Medicine, and Science.

The topic for Islamic Studies prize is “The Islamic Heritage of Al-Quds,” for Arabic Language and Literature the topic is “Arabic Language Studies in other Languages,” for Medicine prize “Hemoglobin diseases”, for the Science prize the topic is “Life Science”.

The Service to Islam prize is granted to those who carry out a pioneering role in serving Islam and Muslims intellectually and practically through various works, activities, programs and projects.

Al-Subayel said the nominations are restricted to authorities, institutions and universities.

The seven-month nomination process will end on March 31, 2019.

The topic for the 2019 prize are “Studies on the Objectives of Islamic Law”, “Arabic Language and Contemporary Challenges”, “Bone Biology and Osteoporosis”, and “Chemistry”.
