Riyadh —
All emergency symbols in the health sector will be unified. This was approved by the Saudi Health Council in its 83rd meeting chaired by Minister of Health Tawfiq Al-Rabiah here on Saturday.

Pink color will be added to an emergency symbol in cases of kidnapping of children.

The Council asked health sectors to conduct a survey on hearing abilities of the newborn and document their findings.

The health sectors were also asked to document negative incidents relating to patient safety, especially grave ones, and enhance transparency.

The Saudi Center for Patient Safety will declare the rules and principles for the declaration of grave incidents in health sectors and refer these to Saudi Health Council for approval.

All health sectors were asked to prepare annual reports on grave incidents for the purpose of education and comparison and developing systems and regulations to curtail such incidents.

The Council approved the national plan to help psychologists and psychiatrists develop their practice. The Council was briefed on the progress of work on a study to benefit on a national level from the expensive medical equipment and machinery.
