RIYADH —The joint operations room for consumer protection held its 6th meeting at the Ministry of Commerce and Investment in Riyadh recently. Deputy Minister of Commerce and Investment Majid Abdullah Al-Bawardi chaired the meeting, which was attended by representatives of the concerned government agencies.
The participants discussed the field control efforts of the government sectors related to consumer protection. They discussed the development of methods and mechanisms that contribute to the promotion of consumer protection and preserving their rights. The attendants also discussed the competence and task of each party in relation to receiving, addressing and treating the violation reports.
During the meeting, a periodic report was presented and reviewed to monitor and follow up the performance of the concerned parties in handling and addressing the consumers› calls and reports received through the Consolidated Call Center Bayyinah at the emergency number 935.
Bayyinah is a consolidated call center for all government agencies directly concerned with consumer affairs. This center was established by the Standing Committee for Consumer Protection, in accordance with a Council of Ministers decree, to receive the consumer›s calls, reports and complaints, and to take action in addressing, following up and treating such complaints, as well as to evaluate the performance of each concerned party. All that for protecting and preserving the consumer›s rights and for the realization of the Kingdom›s Vision 2030.
