RCL begins second Prince Sultan T20 Cup

RIYADH —

Another exciting season of Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) kicked off here with Prince Sultan T20 Cup 2018-19.

Premier Green League

Gujranwala Stars prevailed over Run Riderz by 58 runs. Batting first, Gujranwala posted 229 runs in 20 overs. Syed Waqar was the highest scorer with 72, followed by Usman Un (61 not out). Rayees and Heera took 2 wickets each. In reply, Heera showed some resilience with 30 but the team was restricted to 171. Masoom and Atouf grabbed 3 wickets each. Man of the Match: Syed Waqar.

Insaf crushed Chargerz CC by 5 wickets. Chargerz recorded 183. Akmal Khan made an outstanding 73, supported by Asim (26). Zeeshan bagged 5 wickets. In reply, Ilyas of Insaf CC made a blistering 77 not out and Ali 33 to reach the target with 2.2 overs to spare. Asim and Khan took 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Muhammad Ilyas.

Kokan Green prevailed over Warriors by 24 runs. Kokan Green managed 179 as Shanawaz made 65. Waseem and Nishad were the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets each. In reply, Warriors’ Nishad blasted 52 alongside Faizan (37 not out). But they were restricted to 155. Umar and Siraj took 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Shanawaz.

Premier Blue League

Sanad Aster defeated Cricket AHC by 93 runs in one of the thrilling matches. Sanad Aster posted a mammoth 266 in 18 overs. Roy Gopinath scored an unbeaten maiden century (139) off 55 balls and was well supported by Biju Varkey who also scored a maiden century (102) off 51 balls. Safdar took 1 wicket. In reply, AHC’s Hussain was the top scorer with 56. The team managed 173. Ajith grabbed 2 wickets. Man of the Match: Roy Gopinath.

Warangal Blues in their maiden match tied over Pak CC. Batting first, Warangal Blues posted 199 as Shafiuddin made 59 and Nayeem Akbar 40. Mudassir Gul took 2 wickets. In reply, Pak CC’s Shareen made a quick 66. Nayeem Akbar grabbed 3 wickets. Man of the Match: Shareen Khan.

Karachi Dolphins triumphed over Pak Gladiators by 6 wickets in their maiden appearance. Pak Gladiator tallied 178 through Ali (36) and Riaz (32). Wahaj and Rizwan clinched 3 wickets each. In reply, Fahad of Karachi made a comfortable 67 and Naveed 52 to complete the win in 18.1 overs. Aziz and Noushad took 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Naveed Ali.

Premier Yellow League

Royal Tigers went past Sahara Gladiators by 1 wicket. Sahara Gladiators made 120 as Muhaddis hit 49. Waseem grabbed 5 wickets. In reply, Royal Tigers’ Rashid made 23 runs and Waseem 20 not out. Zubair and Itrat grabbed 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Waseem.

Riyadh Rhinos won over Pak Knights in their maiden match by 32 runs. Batting first, Riyadh Rhinos tallied 175. Noufal made an outstanding 58, supported by Atif (33). Moiz clinched 3 wickets. In reply, Nadeem of Pak Knights made 19 and Haroon 19. They managed 143. Ches took 2 wickets. Man of the Match: Noufal.

Premier Orange League

Pacific Blues defeated L&T by 8 wickets. Batting first L&T was bundled out for 97. Dinesh top scored with 32. Adnan grabbed 3 wickets. In reply, Sameer of Pacific Blues made 33 and Masood 29. They completed the win in 9.2 overs. Abdul Wahab took 1 wicket. — SG
