Schools suspended on Sunday in Jeddah

JEDDAH
- Classes have been suspended on Sunday in all Jeddah, Rabigh and Khulaiss schools in line with the directives of Director General of Education in Jeddah Governorate Abdullah Al-Thaqafi due to expected turbulent weather, according to a tweet issued by the Education General Administration in Jeddah.

Jeddah and King Abdulaziz universities and all their branches, also announced the suspension of classes on Sunday.

Jeddah University also announced the suspension of its classes on Sunday.

Earlier, the General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection issued a warning about heavy and thunderous rains with heavy surface winds, limiting the visibility in Makkah and Jeddah.

The authorities have emphatically denied social media rumors that a hurricane might hit Jeddah.

The weather situation tends to stabilize relatively in the upcoming hours, authorities said in a tweet.
