BURAIDAH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for more than 600 development projects worth SR16.5 billion.
At a function held at Al-Wadi Palace in Buraidah, the King received several citizens of the Qassim region who came to greet him on the occasion of the royal visit.
Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, and several princes, ministers and high-ranking officials were also present on the occasion.
King Salman inaugurated 402 projects, covering 12 sectors worth SR12.15 billion, and laid the foundation stone for another 199 projects costing SR4.2 billion.
These projects cover the areas of education, housing, road, environment, tourism, water, electricity and public utilities.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, Prince Faisal Bin Mishal Bin Saud, emir of Qassim, said these projects included several ministries and sectors in all the cities, governorates and towns in the Qassim region.
The launching of the multibillion riyal projects confirms the continuation of the process of development and boom in all sectors and regions of Qassim.
This also meets the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in improving performance and increasing productivity.
Holiday for students in Qassim, Hail today
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has directed that Thursday will be a holiday for girl and boy students in all phases of education in the regions of Al-Qassim and Hail. This is on the occasion of the visit of the King to the regions. -- SG/SPA
