RIYADH — Pakistan Ambassador Khan Hasham Bin Saddique lauded the efforts of Pakistan Doctors Group (PDG) in providing free medical treatment to community here and support of Saudi government in similar initiatives.
Pakistan Doctors Group Riyadh (PDGR) organized Free Medical Camp at Pakistan Embassy here recently. More than 25 doctors, dozens of support staff and volunteers provided medical services to more than a thousand patients. Health professionals from UK, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and Philippine also participated. Transport service was also arranged from various spots in Riyadh for convenience of the community.
President PDGR Dr. Asad Ullah Romi highlighted various services being provided In the medical camp. The services included free consultation by specialists, free medicine and lab tests. Further, a workshop was arranged for creating awareness about preventive measures against asthma and use of inhalers. Furthermore, there were arrangements for flu vaccination in coordination with Saudi Health Ministry.
Chairman PDGR Dr. Riaz Javed Khawaja described various initiatives undertaken by Doctors Group for provision of free health services to Pakistani community in Riyadh. It includes a biannual Free Medical Camp at Pakistan Embassy. Moreover, PDGR runs a free clinic in Embassy on daily basis with help of volunteer specialist doctors. The daily clinic remains open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ambassador Saddique visited various counters of the medical camp and appreciated the efforts of PDGR and other volunteers. The Ambassador also inaugurated the setup of Embassy Clinic that was shifted to the newly constructed Consular Hall. The Ambassador praised Saudi government for their support in similar initiatives.
