JEDDAH – Ten Civil Defense firefighting units were called in to contain a huge fire that broke out at a wood factory in the industrial area of south Jeddah Thursday.
Under the direct supervision of Brig. Gen. Abdullah Jadawee, the firefighting teams supported by advanced equipment prevented the fire from spreading to nearby factories.
The teams remained at the site until the wee hours to ensure the fire would not start again. Foam, Snorkel trucks and Rosenbauer fire engines were used to put out the blaze that continued for more than two hours.
The cause of the fire has not been established yet though an investigation is already under way.
