AUGUST 14,1947 marks Independence Day of Pakistan, when Pakistan became a sovereign nation. The relentless efforts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah made this possible. Pakistan International School, Riyadh, (PISR) is one of the top ranked academic institutions serving the Pakistani community since its establishment in 1968. It was established under the acquiescence of the late King Faisal.
Among the various international schools in Saudi Arabia, the PISR is considered the largest in terms of enrollment. Presently, around 8,000 students are studying in this institution. Until 1988, the school functioned under the Armed Forces of Pakistan in KSA. But on December 4, 1988, it was taken over by the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh.
Since 2001 it is run by the School Management Council, appointed by the Pakistan Ambassador. The ambassador of Pakistan is the patron in chief of the Institution.

The Management Council has been given comprehensive authority to run the institution.
