JEDDAH —
The Executive Court in Jeddah has frozen the activities of a foodstuffs distributor for selling items past their expiration date to two retail outlets and refusing to pay back debts worth more than SR5.6 million.

The court sources did not identify the company but said it refused to pay back debts and compensate two firms that received expired foodstuffs.

The lawyers of the two firms took the case to the court, which froze the activities of the company and stopped all services to it.

According to the Justice Ministry, the executive courts in the Kingdom issued as many as 77,259 rulings for reimbursement of dues worth more than SR14 billion.
