Prosecution orders arrest of men who appeared in viral video with firearms

HOTAT BANI TAMIM –
Attorney General Saud Bin Abdullah Al-Moajab has issued directives to arrest several people who appeared on a viral video carrying weapons and roaming one of the residential districts of Hotat Bani Tamim, a city about 160 kilometers south of Riyadh.

Al-Moajab also ordered that legal measures be taken against the men with all firmness in line with the Criminal Procedure Law.

In a statement issued on Friday, Al-Moajab stressed that people›s peace of mind and tranquility were among the top priorities of the state and that no one would be allowed to infringe upon them in any manner.

The video clip that was widely circulated on social media showed several people parking their cars in one of the residential districts of Hotat Bani Tamim and coming out carrying firearms with them. The video roused public outrage.
