TABUK —
The last telephone call Muzakar Al-Subaie made to his wife was on Saturday, following which a companion repeated the number telling the wife that her husband slipped into Victoria Lake and was missing since then.

Manahi Al-Subaie said his family was hopeful that his cousin would be found alive, expressing great confidence in efforts being exerted by the Saudi government to locate the victim.

Al-Subaie said his cousin’s wife received a telephone call from a companion on Saturday evening saying Muzakar had slipped into lake and went missing.

Saudi Ambassador to Uganda Abdullah Al-Qahtani said the search was still continuing for the missing Saudi businessman and that the embassy was in close contact with the concerned Ugandan authorities.

“We are in constant touch with his family and are exerting concerted efforts to find him,” he said.

The ambassador said the embassy has received and was hosting some members of the family who came from the Kingdom to follow the search operations.

“We will be at the service of the family members until this predicament is over. We ask them to be patient and to have faith in Allah that Muzakar would be found alive,” Al-Qahtani said.

A number of Saudi bloggers have established a hashtag under the title “Muzakar-Nasser-Al-Subaie-Uganda” calling for intensifying the search for him.

They also re-tweeted some photos of the Victoria Lake the missing businessman had posted on Snapchat.

While two of his family members are already in Uganda, some of his brothers are set to travel to the East African country to follow up the search.
