Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who commands the Libyan National Army (LNA), has dominated the breaking news again after ordering his forces to march on capital Tripoli and drive out terrorist militias, takfirist organizations and criminal gangs and rid the country of their dominion, control and crimes.

It is a delusion to think that Libyans have, over the last seven years, enjoyed peace and security at home or work. Their oil-rich country has become a safe haven for takfirists, rogue groups and mercenaries. Terrorism, corruption, nepotism and assassinations have spread while the number of militias and terrorist organizations has increased in addition to murders, robberies, kidnappings and acts of torturing to death.

Undoubtedly, the majority of loyal Libyans support Haftar and his courageous operation against takfirist groups, militias, armed groups and evil Brotherhood group in the hope that Libya will become secure and stable again. This is why Deputy Chief of the Presidential Council Ali Al-Qatrani resigned and called upon Libyans to fight and make sacrifices for Libya.

Qatar finances criminal gangs and extremist militias in Libya as some Libyan politicians said. Such gangs and militias are supported by regional countries such as Turkey and stakeholders who have worked since the collapse of Qaddafi regime to control and share Libya’s wealth and form their own small states within greater state of Libya in complete disregard for the future of the country.

Let us put it bluntly — most Libyans accuse Qatar and Turkey of chaos, havoc and destruction in Libya. Spiritual Leader of Muslim Brotherhood Yousef Al-Qaradawi’s interference in Libya’s affairs is an evident proof. Another proof is the fabricated lies about the internal affairs of Libya broadcast by Al-Jazeera Channel. Turkey and Qatar’s anger at the march of Haftar’s forces on Tripoli proves the words of Islamic movement affairs expert Amr Farouk, who said that Qatari-Turkish intelligence planned, after ridding Syria and Iraq of Daesh (so-called IS), to turn Libya and Mali in West Africa into an alternative base for Daesh and an operation unit that organizes the work of armed takfirist organizations.

Today, Haftar is the star of Libya. What he has done, and is doing, has the support of most Libyans. He is viewed as the savior of the country that has been ripped by havoc and chaos for many years. His popularity has increased after announcing the launch of “Flood of Dignity” operation to protect the country and prevent attempts to turn it into a failed state that sponsors terrorism.

Over the past seven harsh years, Libya has suffered from kidnappings and assassinations. The rule of law no longer exists while terrorism is rampant. However, Haftar will put an end to this and will defeat the terrorist militias and kick out mercenaries and restore security before Libya becomes another Iraq, Somalia or Algeria like it was in the 1990s. He will definitely pull it through if he focuses on his national mission and forms an alliance with tribes in the west.

Libya is an Arab country that is rich in oil and resources and enjoys a strategic location. All Libyans should stand united and face militias and takfirist organizations as well as mercenaries and their allies in order to end the deteriorating security situation. Libyans should work together to bring Libya to safety so that it does not become a failed state, a ground for external interferences and destruction.
