RIYADH — Addressing the global and regional issues on traffic accidents, the Tristar Group will be hosting a seminar on ‘Road Safety & Traffic Awareness’ on April 17 at the Hyatt Regency in Riyadh, mainly designed to further create awareness on how to reduce road accidents and minimize the number of people killed or seriously injured on the roads.
The international road safety situation, traffic management and preventive measures as well as the utilization of advanced technologies for boosting road safety will be among the main topics to be addressed in the event which is an exclusive invitation to companies in the oil and gas industry, public and private sectors, and transport fleet segment of the logistic industry.
The aim of the seminar is to further improve knowledge on traffic safety issues, present best global examples, and shed light on practices on occupational risk prevention. The speakers include civil engineer Ms. Miasem Bajowaiber who will talk about the various aspects of measuring indicators of behavior before a road collision. She is connected with the National Road Safety Center.
Commenting on her forthcoming presentation, Ms. Bajowaiber said: “Being well aware of the extent of dangers caused by road traffic, the global society is assuming several initiatives aimed at spreading awareness and information on road safety issues and the suitable solutions in this respect. It is highly estimable that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed to providing further support in this field, exerting much effort to update traffic rules and regulate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians.”
Rob Burgon, executive head of Training at UK-based Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents or RoSPA, will give insights on effective ways to implement international best practices to reduce road traffic incidents.
The other KSA-based road safety experts are Farhad Amer, Head of HSE at FAHSS/TUV NORD; Muhammad Farhan, Saudi Aramco Chair Professor and Director of Traffic and Transportation Engineering at University of Dammam; and Mohammed Hawsawi, Global SC EHSS and Sustainability at SABIC. — SG
