Butt Sports, Saudi Oil coast to easy wins

JEDDAH — Butt Sports, Saudi Oil, Al-Burj and Shawahid Tech coasted to easy wins while Pak Zalmi struggled before overcoming Kashmir Stags during the 5th week matches of Ace Travel-sponsored Saudi Cup, organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA). There were also excellent individual performances by Shahid (107), Shani (109), Kamran (90) and Atta Muskan’s (83 and 3 for 40).

Fine bowling by Imran (2 for 34) and Samir (2 for 22) and a sensible knock by Tauseef (53) enabled Butt Sports beat ARM United by 5 wickets.

Shahid’s classic knock of 107 off 47 balls (4x13, 6x4) and good bowling by Ashiq, Ateeq and Hasnain who picked up 2 scalps each helped Saudi Oil crush Jeddah Gladiators by 71 runs.

Tight bowling in tandem by Bilal (3 for 19) and Saeed (2 for 25) and sensible batting by Shad (45) and Usman (55) enabled Shawahid overcome KAIA by 5 wickets.

Atta Muskan continued his prolific form (83 and 3 for 40), well supported by Kamran (90) to give Al-Burj a 38-run win over CH XI, despite Amjad (55) and Zaid (44).

Waqas’ 58 and fine show by Fida (28 and 2 for 33) enabled Pak Zalmi pip Kashmir Stags by a solitary wicket with a ball to spare despite Shani’s knock of 109 in 51 balls with 16 fours and 4 sixes and Danish’s awesome spell of 4 for 32.

Fine spell by Riaz (3 for 9) and Amer (3 for 27) gave Chinar CC a huge 73-run win in a low-scoring match over Royal Jurana despite good spell by Maqsood (4 for 19) and Wasim (3 for 31).

Butt Sports beat ARM United by 5 wickets. ARM United 152 for 8 (Najam 42, Hafeez 38NO, Imran 2 for 34, Samir 2 for 22). Butt Sports 154 for 5 in 17.1 overs (Umar 35, Tauseef 53).

Saudi Oil beat Jeddah Gladiators by 71 runs. Saudi Oil 247 for 6 (Shahid 107, Hasnain 33, Adeel 2 for 46, Ali Raza 2 for 25). Jeddah Gladiators 176 all out (Naeem 21, Ashiq 2 for 19, Ateeq 2 for 27, Hasnain 2 for 27).

Shawahid beat KAIA by 5 wickets. KAIA 178 for 8 (Sabbatain 42, Farukh 28, Bilal 3 for 19). Shawahid 182 for 7 in 17.4 overs (Shad Khan 45, Usman 55, Majid 2 for 17, Sabtain 2 for 33).

Al-Burj beat CH XI by 38 runs. Al-Bruj 251 for 4 (Atta Muskan 83, Kamran 90). CH XI 213 for 8 (Zaid 44, Amjad 55, Atta 3 for 40, Imad 2 for 23).

Pak Zalmi beat Kashmir Stags by 1 wicket. Kashmir Stags 175 all out (Shani 109, Asad 4 for 30, Fida 2 for 33). Pak Zalmi 176 for 9 in 19.5 overs (Zaid 44, Waqas 58, Fida 28, Zubair 1 for 38, Danish 4 for 32).

Chinar CC beat Royal Jurana by 73 runs. Chinar CC 139 all out (Shabbir 26, Ahmed 24 not out, Maqsood 4 for 19, Wasim 3 for 31). Royal Jurana 66 all out (Riaz 3 for 9, Amer 3 for 27).
