SAIP launches IP rights awareness-raising events

‏SAUDI Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) launched a series of intellectual property rights awareness-raising activities and messages that coincide with World Intellectual Property Day on April 26 of each year. This year's World Intellectual Property Day is the first experience to the Authority since its establishment.

The Authority is holding a number of events in various Malls in the Kingdom and offers a series of awareness messages under the slogan "#I_respect_intellectual_Property_rights". Also it aims to promote intellectual property rights and increase awareness among the community of the importance of preserving, developing and nurturing them in accordance with local and international best practices. In cooperation with Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, a number of organizations organized workshops in Saudi Arabia and interacted through social media, media platforms and newspapers.

The Executive Chairman of Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property Dr. AbdulAziz Bin Mohammed AlSwailem pointed out that the Authority works through the World Intellectual Property Day to promote a culture of protection and respect for intellectual property rights by raising awareness among the society, it also works with partners worldwide to provide greater protection to intellectual property rights.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has announced that this year's World Intellectual Property Day will be held under the theme "Reach for gold: Intellectual Property and Sports".

Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property has completed several initiatives and founding procedures for the Authority's work and has developed a number of regulations that regulate intellectual property fields and promote respect for their rights. — SG
