GEA unveils training and exchange programs for local talents

RIYADH — Eng. Ahmed Al-Sharqi, chief sector development officer at the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), has announced the authority's future directives regarding training, development and exchange programs to be carried out in cooperation with relevant entities.

Al-Sharqi made the announcement while participating in a panel discussion titled “The Impact of Smart Learning”, which was conducted during the InnoXera Forum organized at the King Abdullah Financial Center on May 1.

Al-Sharqi elaborated by highlighting coordination currently underway between GEA and several entities including universities with the aim of utilizing their facilities to organize international events that create volunteer opportunities for students and equip them with event management skills.

Al-Sharqi also emphasized GEA’s objectives in creating job opportunities within the sector by adopting best international practices in training and recruitment. He added that GEA had identified some of the top regional and global training programs, while seeking to equip Saudi youth with skills necessary to thrive within this modern sector.

GEA’s participation at the InnoXera Forum highlights the major role it plays in promoting a culture of entertainment throughout various sectors in Saudi Arabia, in addition to collaborating with relevant entities to identify areas of joint cooperation, which contribute towards building a vibrant entertainment sector and creating numerous training and educational opportunities for local talents.
