DUBAI — The Gulf Association of Rights and Freedoms in a statement described Alia Abdel-Nour as a victim of extremist ideology. The association also asserted that the United Arab Emirates offered her complete treatment, but she refused it.
Alia Abdul-Nour was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the United Arab Emirates on charges of terrorism and supporting Al-Qaeda.
The association explained that Alia Abel-Nour was suffering from breast cancer and the UAE authorities had provided her necessary treatment before and after the sentence, but her health deteriorated due to her refusal to avail the treatment.
She died in a hospital next to her family.
The association also pointed out extremist groups like the Muslim Brotherhood, Qatar and Turkey exploited the case for their malicious propaganda
The Association also pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood does not care about the future of young people and their families or their fate and suffering, the most important thing for them is to promote their terrorist ideology. — SG
