RIYADH —
Commercial courts in the Kingdom have issued more than 28,000 rulings in eight months, the Ministry of Justice announced on Monday attributing the achievement to its recently introduced electronic services.

The ministry said the electronic services have helped expedite the consideration of lawsuits and reduced the time of litigation.

The ministry said Riyadh with 11,624 rulings topped all other regions in the number of verdicts issued by the commercial courts followed by Makkah which had 7,519, the Eastern Province 5,669, Madinah 1,298 and Qasim 572.

According to the ministry, Tabuk with 467 rulings occupied sixth place followed by Asir which had 419, Hail 246, the Northern Borders Province 59, each of Najran and Al-Baha 35 and Jazan 20.

Minister Walid Bin Mohammed Al-Samaani decided that the courts should start looking into commercial cases 20 days maximum after they have been tabled and said the courts should not hold more than three sessions to finalize looking at the cases and issuing their verdicts on them.
