JEDDAH —
King Abdulaziz University has introduced a program in its faculty of arts to grant the bachelor’s degree in Chinese language. It has, thus, become the first university in the Kingdom to do this.

The university has also approved teaching fashion for B.A degrees in the college of costumes and textiles for female students with hearing difficulties.

The two programs were approved by the sixth session of the university's senate which met recently under the chairmanship of Minister of Education Hamad Al-Asheikh.

The teaching of the Chinese language was introduced under an agreement with China to include its language in the Kingdom's syllabuses in all the educational levels of the Saudi schools and universities.

The teaching of Chinese language is in linewith the Kingdom's 2030 Vision and will enable the Saudi companies and businessmen to communicate with China which is one of the most important economic entities in the world.

The university said teaching of fashion will prepare female students with hearing difficulties to the labor market.
