JEDDAH — Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived here on Tuesday to represent Pakistan in the foreign ministers’ meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
On arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) Royal Terminal, he was received by Nasir Jamal, Chief of Protocol of Saudi Foreign Ministry; Raja Ali Aijaz, Pakistan's Ambassador to SaudiArabia, and Consul General Shehryar Akbar Khan. Other Saudi Royal Protocol officials were also present.
The foreign ministers’ meeting in Makkah on Wednesday will set the tone for OIC summit. It will discuss the Middle East situation and the increasing tension between Iran and the United States.
OIC's Contact Group of Kashmir is also expected to attend the meeting.
Arshad Munir, Consular (Press), told Saudi Gazette that minister Qureshi will hold meetings with other foreign ministers. Prime Minister Imran Khan will also attend the 14th Islamic Summit of the OIC where he will address the session on May 31.
