Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH —
The police were able to nab a man who used his machine gun to fire randomly in front of a house in the capital city.

The police did not identify the shooter but said heVide was a young Saudi man in his 20s.

Police spokesman Lieut. Col. Shakir Al-Tuwaijri said the shooter was apprehended in Wadi Al-Dawasir, a nearby district.

He said the police were able to recognize the random shooter from the video clip which went viral on the social media.

A number of social media users had exchanged the video clip and said it was obvious that the young man lost control over his machine gun and had almost killed or injured a number of people who were gathered at the scene.

Attorney General Saad Al-Moajil had asked for apprehending the young man to be brought to justice.

A number of lawyers said the AG has the right to give instructions to catch anyone who may jeopardize the public safety and also has the right to bring him/her to the courts.
