Riyadh — Condemnation of the Houthi attack on Abha airport has been pouring in from all corners of the world.

Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Palestine, Djibouti and many other countries were unanimous in calling it a terror attack and affirmed their full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

The US Embassy in Riyadh and speaker of Arab Parliament also expressed their strong condemnation.

In a statement the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign stressed that such targeting of international airports is a flagrant violation of international laws and norms.

Egypt called on the international community to work to counter all terrorist acts.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry said targeting the security of Saudi Arabia is aimed at the region's security.

“The security of Saudi Arabia and that of Jordan is inseparable. Jordan supports the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all actions it might take to maintain its security and deal with terrorism in all its forms," the ministry added.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation called the attack as new evidence of the Houthi's hostile and terrorist tendencies that seek to undermine security and stability in the region.

“The security of the UAE and that of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is indivisible,” it noted, adding, “Any threat or danger against the Kingdom's security is considered a threat to UAE's security and stability.”

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman received a cable from Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, condemning the Houthi attack on Abha airport.

“This terrorist act, which targeted innocent people as well as undermining Saudi Arabia’s security and stability, contradicts all divine laws and humanitarian values,” he said while confirming Kuwait’s full support to all measures the Kingdom might take to confront terrorism and preserve its security.

The King also received a similar cable from Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabab.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said the despicable attack not only threatens Saudi Arabia’s security but is also a dangerous escalation in hostilities.

The Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs vowed full support for the Saudi endeavors to eliminate violence and terrorism and reinforce peace and security in the region and beyond it, affirming the need for a strong-willed international stand against Iran to stop its support for these recurrent terrorist acts.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called on the world community to condemn these actions, stand firmly against them, and against those who are behind them.

Dr. Mishaal Al-Sulami, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, considered the terrorist cowardly attack a war crime. He urged the United Nations and Security Council to take a firm and immediate stance to classify the Houthi militias as a terrorist group.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist attack, describing it as a terrorist crime that contradicts international and humanitarian laws.

The Council of Arab Interior Ministers condemned the criminal act and called on the world community to stand firmly to prevent those behind such attacks from achieving their malicious designs.

The Shoura Council President Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh expressed his deep condemnation of this cowardly criminal act, which targeted innocent civilians, violating all international humanitarian laws and norms.

The Muslim World League stated that this terrorist act was added to the criminal record of the terrorist Houthi militia. “This terrorist act targeting civilians reveals the brutality of this leased outfit,” said MWL Secretary General Sheikh Mohammed Al-Issa.

Sheikh Abdurahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, said this terrorist act shows the bad intentions of the terrorists and their flagrant aggression and despicable plots to target innocent civilians in violation of all international values and laws.”

The aggression by the Iran-backed Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia and Wednesday’s attack on Abha International Airport showed new evidence of Iran’s sinister and vandalizing role in the region, according to Commander Rebecca Rebarich, Pentagon spokeswoman. “The US Central Command is closely following the attack on Abha airport and such acts cause the killing of innocent civilians who have nothing to do with the conflict within Yemen,” she said adding that these are continuation of the violation of UN Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231.

Pakistan reiterated its full support for and solidarity with the Kingdom against any threats to its security, safety and sovereignty, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

In a statement, the Yemeni foreign ministry said that the Iran-backed Houthi militia’s continuing attacks against civil facilities has shown the dangerous threats this radical group poses. The statement added that this terrorist act is a clear message to the international community that this militia doesn’t want peace.
