BERLIN — The UAE and Germany have reaffirmed their joint commitment to the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, in all its forms, at both regional and international levels, the UAE state news agency WAM reported on Wednesday.

Both the countries expressed concern over growing tensions in the Middle East. They called on Iran to play a constructive role and refrain from steps that escalate tension.

In a joint statement issued on Wednesday on the occasion of the visit of Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to Germany, the two countries expressed their shared view that terrorism and violent extremism are threats to the international order. They also reiterated their unequivocal rejection of all forms of terrorism, that represents a threat to the international peace and stability, and ensure security cooperation in this regard. — Agencies
