Saudi Radio has won awards in the three major broadcasting branches of the competition held on the sidelines of the 20th Arab Radio and TV Festival, which concluded in Tunis on Sunday.

The awards were distributed at the closing ceremony of the festival at City of Culture. A large number of audiovisual artists and specialists as well as prominent cultural figures from the Arab World participated in the festival. Saudi Radio bagged second prizes in the three categories of comedy for Snap Chat show, children oriented show called “Leaders of the Future,” and news casting category.

Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) has won innovation award in presentation of TV competition shows, and first prize for its series “Share Chat”. It bagged first prize for comprehensive radio exchanges in the field of coordination between Arab radio stations.

The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) organizes the festival every year in Tunisia in partnership with the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat). The closing ceremony of the festival was held in parallel with the conclusion of ASBU Broadcast Convention & Programs Market exhibition.

Earlier, Tunisian Minister of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy Mohammed Al-Anouar Maarouf opened the four-day exhibition, which showcased the remarkable changes in the field of communications technology, keeping pace with developments in the field of media, especially radio and television.

The closing ceremony was dedicated to the State of Palestine, which was the guest of honor for the session.

Meanwhile, a cooperation agreement was signed between ASBU and the “Ilamiune” Saudi organization for organizing joint training workshops for the exchange of skills in all Arab countries aimed at developing the Arab media sector and boosting joint action between Arab media outlets.
