MAKKAH — The company operating the Mashaer train, which is under the supervision of the Authority for the Development of Makkah region, has employed as many as 15,419 seasonal workers to manage the masses on the train which shuttles between Makkah and the holy sites during the Haj season.
The company said a total of 4,582 of the newly employed people were Saudis who have previous experience in mass management representing about 74 percent of the entire staff.
It said the seasonal workers were accepted after conducting personal interviews at Umm Al-Qura University.
The interviewees were briefed on the the project and provided with sufficient data on the train before they were asked to conduct interviews.
