Science fair showcases Pakistani students’ skills

RIYADH —
Children, parents and Pakistani community members evinced keen interest in a science fair organized by Bazm-e-Shaheen Riyadh in the capital city recently.

In total, 37 projects of students were registered, with 16 of them selected and placed on display. The projects were divided in two categories of junior and senior sections for the competition, each consisted of two to four students.

Prior to the fair, workshops were organized for students wherein they were given necessary instruction and guidance. Students displayed the project in a systematic manner and with thorough preparation. They meticulously explained the presentation and answered questions from the visitors.

Pakistani Ambassador Raja Ali Ali Ijaz was the guest of honor at the event which was also attended by his his wife and Community Welfare Attachè Sheikh Abdul Shakoor. The ambassador highly praised the program. He visited all the stalls and encouraged the students and appreciated their skills, knowledge and interest.

"Engine of the future" project by Rana Omair Idress and Omar Shafqat was placed on the first position. Also, there were some very interesting projects on display including "Working model of human ear,” "Generating cheap electricity,” "Vacuum cleaner using recycled items,” "Heron's fountain" and "Electricity generator".

The program was also addressed by community members and members of the council including Mohammad Noman Sabir, Sayed Mahmood, Dr. Shis and Rehan Tahir Butt.
