RIYADH - The Chinese Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized a reception at the Crown Plaza Hotel to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

The ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador Chen Weiqing and Chinese military attaché Lin-Li, a high-level Saudi government delegation, military attachés at embassies, as well as media professionals and community leaders.

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has had a long march since its birth during the armed uprising that broke out in Nanchang on August 1, 1927, when it had a strength of only 20,000 soldiers.

Ninety-two years later, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army is now the world’s largest military power. -SG
