120 ex-drug addicts to perform Haj

RIYADH — The National Committee of Narcotics Control has enabled 120 drug addicts from various parts of the Kingdom who got clean after treatment and rehabilitation to perform Haj, the committee announced on Saturday.

It said the Haj journey for the reformed addicts was approved by Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud, who is the chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee and the head of the NCNC within his continued support to the committee to provide the addicts with medical treatment, rehabilitation and continued care.

The committee said the permanent instructions of the prince for the organization were to develop its treatment and rehabilitation programs which will enable the addicts to remain clean.

The chairman said the Haj journey for the addicts will make them feel self-satisfied and contented.
