A total of 148,482 visas under the job title "private driver" were issued during the first quarter of 2019, according to Saudi Ministry of Labor and Social Development

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has issued as many as 148,482 visas under the job title "private driver" during the first quarter of 2019, local daily Al-Watan reported on Wednesday.

The ministry said a total of 67,152 visas were issued under the title "male house help" and 126,913 for housemaids.

The ministry said Bangladesh, with 64,000 visas, topped all the countries which are exporting labor to the Kingdom followed by Pakistan for which 51,800 visas were issued.

According to the ministry, 49,000 visas were issued for India, 46,454 for the Philippines, 35,543 for Egypt, 24,000 for Yemen, 23,375 for Sudan, 18,000 for Ethiopia, 16,214 for Uganda and 6,000 for Kenya.

The ministry's latest statistics said there were 1.5 million male drivers during the first three months of 2019 against 459 women drivers.

There were 324,348 male house helps and 932,436 females.
