Student dies in school fight

RIYADH —
Two students clashed over an unknown matter in Bisher Bin Al-Walid primary school in the west of the capital city resulting in the death of a class six student, according to a statement issued by the department of education in Riyadh.

The department spokesman, Ali Al-Ghamdi, said surveillance cameras in the school have documented the fight between the two students in the sixth elementary class.

He said a number of teachers and students tried to save the student and called the Saudi Red Crescent Authority which transported the victim to King Khaled University Hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead on arrival.’

The statement said the west of Riyadh department of education is closely pursuing the case and the director has formed a committee with some other concerned departments to investigate the matter.

The statement did not explain what were the causes of the fight nor how the student was killed but said the department conveyed its condolences to the family of the diseased.
