Fifth edition of Bett MEA set in Dubai

September 11, 2019

DUBAI — Bett MEA (Middle East & Africa), part of the leading EdTech Global Series (UK, Brazil, Asia, Latin America and MEA), is to be held for the first time in Dubai at Festival Arena on Sept. 22-23, 2020.

Commenting on the valuable benefits of Bett MEA to the industry, Victoria James, Event Director, said "we have made a complete restructuring plan for Bett MEA 2020 to ensure we meet the needs of our customers and the education community and lead the conversation for the future of the sector in the region. Moving to Dubai in September is the first major change to show the market we are listening to you.”

There are more exciting changes than just the move to Dubai. ITE Group plc, a global event company purchased the Bett Global Series in 2018 and with this acquisition are driving the Bett portfolio into the future to be content led, must attend, market leading events in every region.

With this transition, Bett MEA will now become an exhibition, for the first time, entirely free to attend with CPD content for education leaders and teachers. The event will have two content theatres focusing on six global themes: Innovation; Wellbeing; Empowering Teaching and Learning; Inclusion, Social Mobility and SEND; Future Tech and Trends; and Skills.

By offering free content to the education community, Bett will reinforce its commitment to transforming education so everyone can fulfil their potential. To ensure the content is relevant to the region Bett does months of market research from the full ecosystem of education, from foundation stage to university.

Another investment from ITE is with the Bett team. The first is to have a local team based in the UAE to support strategic relationship development with governments, associations, customers and the education community. The second is to increase the team at HQ in London to further support visitor acquisition. London now has a dedicated team in place to drive high quality leaders and buyers to the show and facilitate meetings to drive business for our customers.

Victoria James said “the MEA region thrives on face-to-face communication and relationship building. It was essential for me to be in market to strengthen our partnerships and increase the awareness of Bett and its mission within the UAE and beyond. To know we are now fully supported by London HQ is amazing. This will drive the quality of visitors to the show and showcase increased ROI for our customers.”

These changes for Bett MEA will demonstrate why Bett is the leading platform for EdTech globally, and perfectly placed to connect educators and learners through technology and innovation. Listening to our market feedbacks, driving a higher quality of education buyers, increasing the return for our customers and ensuring the events are a must attend will support and transform the education community for years to come. — SG
