3.7 million enjoyed 89th National Day Season activities

RIYADH — The five-day 89th National Day Season, which concluded on Monday evening, attracted more than 3.7 million people across the Kingdom.

Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Turki Al-Sheikh said that a workforce of 8,230 ‘happiness makers’, 91% of whom were Saudis, contributed to the success of the Season.

Some 23% women participated in the Season. More than 6,800 seasonal job opportunities were created, which is equivalent to 85% of the jobs in the Season.

Visitors enjoyed more than 700,000 shots of spectacular fireworks, said Al-Sheikh, who is also the Chairman of the National Day Season.

More than 1,167 artists and performers regaled the audience with 650 hours of fun-filled activities spanning 184 days.

More than 4,200 buses transported visitors to and from event locations.

The 89th National Day Season, which is part of the Saudi Seasons, was celebrated from Sept. 19 to 23 under the supervision of the General Entertainment Authority. — SG
