MAKKAH —
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance has appointed 14,152 khateebs, imams and muezzins in the various branches of the ministry in different regions of the Kingdom during the past ten months.

These appointments were made within the project for the care of mosques and their staff in order for them to out their role in serving society in a perfect manner.

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Dr. Abdullatif Al-Asheikh said that all of those who have been appointed have completed the regulatory procedures for their appointment and have appeared for interviews.

He added that the ministry is receiving limitless support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman so that it carries out its duties and provides the required care for mosques, including maintenance, repair, cleaning and making sure the worshipers are in a comfortable atmosphere so that they can devote their time to prayer and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

Many were relieved of these jobs for not carrying out their functions or those who have been assigned to other jobs. Okaz has learned that over 4,000 supervisors have been relieved.

Of these, 3,000 are field supervisors and 1,000 are administrative employees, who are not practicing their work. Most of these jobs are in the peripheral governorates and centers.

Dr. Al-Asheikh expressed thanks and appreciation to the rulers for the care and attention they accord to the mosques — including building, maintenance, repair and cleaning. He prayed to Allah Almighty to reward them greatly for the noble services they are rendering to Islam and Muslims.
